- Annual Employee Opinion Survey - Designed to engage employees in the shaping the future of the company by soliciting feedback on various topics. Results from this anonymous survey are tabulated and presented. An action plan is developed and monitored to address those areas of concern.

TRU Corporation's benefits program has been designed to meet the needs of our employees and their families.
Medical and Dental Plans
- Employees who are regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more are eligible to participate in these plans. We contribute towards the majority of the cost of these plans. The balance of premiums is paid by the employees on a pre-tax basis.
- TRU offers employees and eligible dependents two choices in medical plans: the HMO, and the PPO with our contracted carrier. In addition to health coverage, these plans include coverage for vision and multiple discount programs such as gym memberships.
- Dental coverage is a separate plan. Employees may participate in this plan without participating in the medical plan.
Disability and Life Insurance
TRU Corporation provides employees with disability and life insurance at no cost to the employee. Short-term disability and long-term disability pay a designated percentage of your weekly and monthly gross income, respectively, in the event that you are unable to perform the material duties of your regular job. . The life insurance program is designed to provide benefits to your designated beneficiary in the event of your death. We also offer employees the opportunity to purchase voluntary life insurance.
Retirement
The Company has two ways for employees to save money for retirement. We have a company-sponsored pension plan and we offer employees the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) plan. New employees are eligible to join the pension plan after they have worked full-time for six months prior to the end of the plan year in order to be eligible for that year. The plan year is October 31 through October 30 of each year. New employees are eligible to join the 401(k) plan after completing 3 months of service.
Paid Time Off
To support employees in balancing the daily obligations of life and work, they are provided with paid time off in the form of vacation time, personal time and holidays. Vacation and personal time are accrued in each paycheck. We also offer 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
Additional Benefits
Additional benefits include:
- Employee Assistance Program - provides free counseling and other services to all employees and their family members.
- Education Assistance Program - provides reimbursement for expenses related to tuition, materials, lab fees, etc for courses job/career related.
- Flexible Spending Account- Allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for dependent (i.e. childcare or eldercare) expenses and/or medical expenses.
